What Causes Irritation Around The Site Of Cerebral Angiogram Site?

I had a cerebral angiogram about 4 days ago. My right leg below.the puncture site and a small area above the site is extremely crampy. My doctor is a couple of hours away but while discussing this with me on the phone - he seems to think that blood spiiled out onto the nerve next.to.the artery causing this pain. Does this make sense to you and will this ever go.away?
