What Causes Irritation In Eyes And Mouth While On Wysolone For Pemphigus Vulgaris?

My father has a problem of pemphigus vulgaris... and doctor has prescribed wysolone 50mg and they will decrease the dose of medicine upto 15mg .He has a problem in eyes and mouth due to wysolone medicine please tell me the alternative to this medicine

Hi dear ,

The symptoms you mention in query occur due to wysolone as one of its side effects . As you mention that doctor had already try to reduce the dose and the problem is still there . I would suggest you to again consult your doctor may discuss other options like ' dexamethasone ' ( corticosteroid other then prednisone or wysolone) . There are other additional medicines also which can help in curing pemphigus vulgaris like supplements such as calcium and vitamin D , this will very helpful in treating this disease . Also take low sugar diet . Some times immunosuppresants also given .
