What Causes Irritation In The Right Eye?

My right eye feels like it has something in it. But it does this at night after I take out my contacts and sometimes during the day. It hurts and it is very irritating. I ve tried lubricating eye drops and this does not work. It only does this to my right eye and especially when it has been irritated. By when my contacts are in it does not feel as bad. It is like the contacts are acting as a bandaid over the irritated spot.

Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

Your irritation in eyes could be due to infection or dryness.

1. If you have redness, secretions, and itchiness. It could be due to infection.
Using contact lens is a common source of infection in eyes.
You may have to take antibiotic eye drops which will clear the infection.

2. If you have only irritation. It could be due to dryness which can be treated with lubricating eye drops.

I suggest you consult an ophthalmologist to get the medication.
