General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You are having a personal history of scratchy throat for over 2 months, then, a dry cough which is worst in the evening.

There are 2 main explanations for this:
- strep throat: a culture of throat swab is recommended to rule it out
- GERD or other hyperacidity problems : upper endoscopy is recommended to rule it out

For the moment, until you see your doctor, I advise to:
- keep a good hygiene of your throat
- drink plenty of fluids
- take antihistaminc med you find over the counter

Wish fast recovery.
