What Causes Irritation In Vagina After Having Sex With Condom?

I had protected sex and a few days later had some irritation. I blew it off as sometimes I get irritated from using a condom and it was kinda rough and I was dry. So used over the counter stuff. It seemed to go away and had protected sex again with that guy. Same thing happened but this time it got much worse. Now I have a sore near the opening of the vagina. It kinda hurts and looks whitish around it. Now all you read about is herpes and I m freaking out. I have know symptoms other than that and just wanted to know if it was just a lesion from the friction and it s healing would it look like that
