What Causes Irritation On Outer Vaginal Walls?

hello, i am irritated around my outter vaginal walls. I had a STD test at my gyno visit last month and they confirmed that I was STD free. During sex i became dry, but we kept going. The irritation was not felt untill two days later. Could this be the cause of my irritation? What could i use to help the irritation go away?
