What Causes Itchiness And Stinging Sensation In Scalp?

Hi, about 2 months ago I bagan to notice I kept itching in just a small spot on my lower scalp. Twice I ve scratched it so much that I m pretty sure I felt puss on my hair. It had no odor and it s not lice. I ve treated it with peroxide and Aquqphor but not regularly like I probably should ve. No one could see anything until today my sister took a picture of where I was scratching and it looks like I ve scratched so much it got irritated and now I can see like red possibly blood in the pours? They don t feel like bumps but to the eye appears like they are? I soaked a cotton ball with peroxide and put it where it was itching it began to sting? I have no idea what it is? But it s weird that it hasn t gone away and actually seems worse now. I tend to scratch it without even realizing I m doing it, but now it s stinging me?? Any suggestions?

Its probably a fungal infection. Tenia capitis. Try applying terbinafine ointment twice a day for two wks. Don't apply anything else to the area. Use a mild antifungal shampoo thrice a WK. Take one tablet avil (pheniramine 10mg) twice a day for a WK. It will take a while. If it recurs you should get a scraping to study it. Hope it helps. Take care.
