What Causes Itchiness Around The Incision Site After Using Xeroform?

I recently had a lumpectomy and xeroform a was used on the incision site each time the dressing was placed my breasts would become itchy after 5 days I went back in surgery with cellulitis in the affected breast upon leaving the hospital after the second surgery the nurse place the xeroform in areas Beyond incision site and I became very red and itchy. How do I know if this is a reaction or just a hypersensitivity so that my doctor doesn t use it anymore?

Hi,

Redness and itching are important points which suggest allergy. So this product should be avoided.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
