What Causes Itchiness Between The Legs While On Lisinopril And Nexium?
I would ask your help, but then I have to pay you for the answer, and I don t have the means to do so. So, I guess I will have to just seek the internet and decide on this. But if you want to donate your answer, then OK! My husband claims to be having a itchiness between his upper legs, inside and thinks it is because of either lisinoprel or naxium. He has no rash, just itchy. Has been for a couple of years. Looks like it s either one or the other. Thank You anyways. Happy Holiday to you!
It is possible that the itchy sensation is related to intertrigo (inflammation that can occur in the body folds).
Intertrigo can occur in the groin, armpits, buttocks and in women- under the breasts.
It is aggravated by friction (skin folds rubbing), moisture (the sweat in the folds) and heat. Friction can be reduced by using barrier creams or lotions such as zinc based creams or by separating the surfaces with cotton or linen material.
Moisture can be treated by the use of drying powders that would not be irritating to the skin..
He should also consider a short course of the mild steroidhydrocortisone. This can be used for a few days. It is over the counter.
I hope this helps
