What Causes Itching Above The Ankle Bone?

I am Male, 47, 350 pounds, arthritis in my hips. I developed what looked like a water-blister on the inside of my leg just above the ankle bone while I was sleeping. The blister was about two inches across, round and red in color. I broke the blister open and pushed the fluid out; it was clear and sticky. Since then; the scab has flaked off leaving a purple area of tight stiff skin, about two inches across. The area becomes itchy from time to time but no pain. It has been over a year and the area remains; and unchanged.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.


It is actually eczema; which has developed by now.
Initially its the infection, bullous impetigo or paederus dermatitis because of crawl of insect. after that when it settles sometimes it becomes eczema which will cause itching. Use topical steroid mixture like Clobetasol 3 portions with 7 portions of white soft Parrafin for 2 3 months.
It will settle down.
