What Causes Itching All Over Body In Type 2 Diabetes?

my mom has type 2 diabeties and has been itching like crazy over the past week. the areas are large and red and are spreading. Is this very serious and does it mean her sugar is high? or is there a cream or medication she can take? she is very hard to deal with and is extremely over weight and WILL NOT check her sugar.

Hi,

Your mother is probably having fungal infection. Uncontrolled diabetes, overweight, excessive sweat are some important causes for it. She will probably need oral and topical anti-fungal treatment under the guidance of a dermatologist with good sugar control. I advise you to use clotrimazole cream till then.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
