We took my 8year old daughter to Yale ED last night for fever, SOB, expiratory wheezing, O2sat 89% RA and congested cough. She has no history of asthma. CXR was negative. Diagnosis: Acute Viral Upper Respiratory Infection with cough and bronchospasm. She was given 3doses of Duoneb treatment and oral Prednisone. She is now on Albuterol inhaler 2puffs q 4hrs PRN. She got 4 doses so far. Although she still has the congested, she is not struggling to breath like yesterday. She continues to have the congested cough and I have been giving her Mucinex. No fever today. But right now she s complaining of being itchy all over her body. I don t see any rashes because all I see is her scratch marks. Should I stop giving it to her and bring her to her pediatrician in the AM?
