What Causes Itching All Over The Body After Taking Keflex?
i am currently taking keflex and have been taking it since last thursday. I have accidentally forgotten to take it yesterday and then again this morning. i took it again this evening when i got home from work but i have been itching all day today up until i took the medicine. i do have a history of allergies against penicillin. what could be causing the itching?
Your symptoms are pointing towards allergic reaction only and as you already have a history of allergy it can be probably related. So my suggestion is to consult an Allergist and get yourself checked.
An allergy test can be done to rule out the exact cause of the symptoms. Once the allergen is ruled out you can avoid exposure to it so that there is no further exposure and symptoms.
For now it there is itching you can take antihistamines like Levocetirizine or Allegra. Apply Calamine lotion over the skin. Drink plenty of water.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
