What Causes Itching All Over The Body?

My mother is 60 and diabetic. Her random sugar is 258 even though she has been taking Glimisave M2. She has been suffering from itching all over her body for the past week or so. There are no apparent lesions or marks on her body because of the itching.. Please let me know what can be done.

Diabetic patients are prone to get quite a few skin diseases.
As there are no apparent lesions, for the time being she can be started on antihistamine tablets like cetrizine/loratidine for approximately 10 days.
Also, avoid long frequent hot showers. Keep the body properly moisturised.Dryness can aggravate the itching. Use a sensitive cleanser while bathing like cetaphil.
If she develops any apparent lesions, visit a dermatologist for further evaluation.
