What Causes Itching All Over The Body?

I am 29 year old female and a mother of 5 month old baby. I am experiencing severe itching all over my body since past 1 month specially after bathing. I have tried everything. A doctor said this is urticaria. Currently I am taking Atarax and allegra and using diprobec with coconut oil. But it hasnt healed completely. Should I wait to complete 10 day medicine course or get further check ups done. As it is very annoying now. I cant bear a slight sensation even after so many days now. Can it be a sign of a bigger problem?

Hi.
Thanks for the query..

If you have itching all over the body specially after bathing then it can be most probably due to contact with any soaps, detergents or body lotions/ creams etc that you are allergic too..

Secondly anti-allergy medicines will suppress the allergic reaction when you take the medicines and relieve the symptoms but it is not treating allergy..

So as soon as you stop taking anti allergics the symptoms will gradually re-appear..

So my suggestion is to consult an Allergist/ Immunologist and get evaluated .
A blood test can be done to rule out the cause of allergy..
Once ruled out avoid exposure/contact to it.

You can also be advised Immunotherapy to reduce the severity of the allergy symptoms..

For now continue taking anti allergics to control itching..
