What Causes Itching All Over The Body?

I am experiencing mild to moderate itching over the majority of my body. This started approximately 2 weeks ago. Even my palms itch! I have not changed any detergents or habits of which I am aware. There is no rash. Additionally, I have always been a faithful moisturizer applying Cetaphil lotion after every bath or shower. Any suggestions? I have had to use Benadryl once. Do not like to do this as it makes me sleepy and when taken at night it makes me very sluggish the next day.
