What Causes Itching And Burning Sensation In The Legs?

I am a 55 year old female and I have been having this problem with my feet/legs. It starts off with pressure in my feet then there is this severe itching and burning sensation that causes me to scratch...afterwards, I am left with red marks all over my feet and my legs. Sometime it only happens in one foot, but the red marking appear in both feet/legs. I have no idea what this could, it first occurred in 2012, the next occurrence was 2014, nothing happened in 2015, but now it has occurred as of twice this year. Please help...thank you

Hi,

First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it seems like an allergic rash which can range from contact dermatitis to local pruritus however possibility of scabies needs to be ruled out.

You should better get it reviewed by a dermatologist or share the pictures and details in a query directed for a dermatologist in this forum.

Meanwhile using antihistamines like Cetirizine or loratadine and calamine lotion can be helpful.
