What Causes Itching And Inflammation On The Thighs?

I get a very itchy skin redness on my thighs every so often. It starts out the size of a half dollar...then it gets larger and lasts about 2-3 days. Then as quickly as it started it disappears without any meds or any treatment. The area gets hard and is very itchy. This has been happening to me for off and on about a year now. It usually appears on my upper thigh or hip area.

Hi..

It can either be allergy or Eczematous reaction leading to the following symptoms..

So my suggestion is to consult a Skin specialist and get checked specially when there is an outbreak so that the exact cause can be ruled out.

A microscopy of scraping from the area and a blood test can be done to rule out what exactly it is..

For now you can apply Betamethasone ointment over it and can take anti allergic medicine like Levocetrizine to reduce itching and redness.

Doing cool compresses can help.

If there is dryness and hardness apply emollient like Petroleum jelly over it for relief..

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
