Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Every once in awhile when I go to bed I get an itching sensation on one or both arms. It is pinpoint irritation. And always near the elbow. Corrizone and benadryl creams seem to have no effect. When a magnifying glass is used there never seems to be anything on the skin. Scratching until bleeding doesn t seem to help either.
As per your query you have symptoms of itching and irritation on the arms which occurs due to infection of hair follicles, contact dermatitis and allergic reaction of body. Sometimes rashes occur due to season change.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to get hormone levels monitored. Make use of product containing benzoyl peroxide. Take Multivitamin supplements. Apply topical antibacterial ointment such as mupirocin and do yoga and meditation daily. Drink plenty of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet. Also wash your skin with mild soap and cold water twice a day. If the condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist once and start treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
