What Causes Itching And Rashes In The Inner Thighs?

I have had a pubic itch for over a year, now in addition to the itch I now have a rash on my inner thigh. The rash is bumpy and also in areas looks likes whiteheads. I have been treating the pubic itch with zinc ointment and it is relieving the itch but the bumpy rash is worrying me. Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The itchy rash you are having on your pubic area and inner thigh are indicating fungal infection.
Zinc ointment will relieve the itchiness but won't treat the primary cause (which is fungal infection).

I advise to:
- keep good local hygiene, wash with warm water and anti-septic soap, rinse well, dry well
- then apply clotrimazole cream locally twice daily
- keep using zinc ointment for the rest of the day

Wish fast recovery.
