What Causes Itching And Redness On The Fingers After Cleaning Shrimps?

I was just cleaning shrimp and my finger got slightly red and itchy, no visable hives. I had allergy testing before and shellfish was neg. (this was like 5 years ago). I have also eaten it since the test and never had an issue. I just cooked it, but havent eaten it yet, could this be an all of a sudden allergy

Hi,
Your fingers got red and itchy only because of an allergic reaction while you were washing shrimp.
An over the counter anti allergic such as Benadryl or Avil will help.
So do not worry,it will go away with the medicines.

Thanks,
Dr.Verma
