What Causes Itching At The Contraceptive Implant Area?

My contraceptive implant is itching really badly i ve had it for almost 2 years now and every now and then it will itch but at times like right now its really itching and its becoming very warm could you tell me why that is and how to ease the itching/ stop it

Hello,
The fact that you have constantly been itching with your implant suggests that you have a skin reaction to the product. The fact that you have developed warmth over the area indicates inflammation. Please see a dermatologist for a proper clinical appraisal of the situation. If the situation demands, your implant should be removed. After evaluating the situation, you may either be given a new one or suggested an alternate method of contraception. Topical application of calamine lotion or olive oil helps to ease out the itch. Hope this helps.
