What Causes Itching Feeling Inside Chest After Having Antibiotics?

I've been sick with cold/flu like symptoms for the past week and a half. I went to the hospital and they prescribed coughing pills and antibiotics. I've been taking them and I have one day left on the antibiotics but I still feel horrible, and now I'm getting this itching feeling inside of my chest like up the middle of my chest, in between my breast bones and it's almost unbearable. I'm just trying to see what's going on or is this a normal thing with colds/flu?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The cough/cold generally lasts no more than 2 weeks in most persons. If there is no improvement and you are actually feeling worse then it would be best to be reviewed by your doctor.

You may need additional medication.

Since you are experiencing chest symptoms you may have bronchitis or pneumonia. These can be viral or bacterial.
If it is bronchitis then you may need a course of steroids along with your other medications.

I hope this helps
