Hello,

Itching in the pubic region after menstruation is commonly because of fungal infection, jock itch, BV, yeast infection, allergies, etc. Take care of your hygiene. Wear breathable clothes, avoid using scented or perfumed beauty products on your private area. Take antihistamine at bed time, it will help to reduce the allergy symptoms. Apply ointment clotrimazole on the affected area to help reduce the spread of fungal infection.

Taking a course of antifungal medicine orally effectively controls the symptoms. Applying cool compress is helpful. You are suggested to eliminate all scented menstrual products. Trichomoniasis if detected is treated with antibiotics like metronidazole (Flagyl) or tinidazole (Tindamax). No, you will not have the same problem every month once it is treated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

Itching in the pubic region after menstruation can be caused by a variety of factors such as a yeast or bacterial infection, skin irritation, allergic reactions, or hormonal changes. It is important to consult with a healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause of the itching.

Doxycycline and lactic acid bacillus are antibiotics that are commonly used to treat bacterial infections, while terbinafine is an antifungal medication used to treat fungal infections. If your itching is caused by a bacterial or fungal infection, these medications can help to alleviate the symptoms and treat the underlying infection.

However, if the itching is due to other factors such as skin irritation or hormonal changes, these medications may not be effective in resolving the issue. In this case, your healthcare provider may recommend alternative treatments such as topical creams, antihistamines, or other medications to manage the symptoms. It is also important to maintain good hygiene practices, wear clean and breathable clothing, and avoid using harsh soaps or products in the pubic area to prevent further irritation or infection.

If you require a personalized response, kindly use the Ask A Doctor service and post a follow-up. Take care. Hope I have answered your question.
