What Causes Itching In Scalp, forehead And Face?

For several months I have had an itchy scalp, primarily in the morning. Periodically, the itchiness extends to forehead and face. In the morning, my eyes itch, but that goes away following a shower. I ve recently been diagnosed with IBS; is there a connection?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

I can understand your concern for itching in scalp, forehead and face. After analyzing your query it appears that you have sensitivity of the scalp skin. In all such cases it is quite necessary to maintain a good hygiene and wash scalp area regularly. It could be due to bit deficiency state or due to more flaking of the skin.
I suggest you to wash your scalp area daily and do not get exposed to external environment so that the sensitivity to the environment can be reduced as one of the important implicating factor. For the interim of the help you can take a cetrizine for two times a day. You can take further guidance from a dermatologist.
Take care.
