What Causes Itching In The Fingers?

On one of my hands, my fingers, especially around the nail and cuticle have been very itchy. One finger itches all the way from the nail to the proximal interphalangeal joint. Sometimes i itch it so much that goes numb and starts to bleed. The cuticles around two of my fingers are swollen, red, and sore. I have tried to ice it,soak it in warm water, and put cortisone on them but nothing helps. What should I do and what could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for your query on HCM

I do understand your concern

“As” per your clinical history is concerned first rule out [Onychomycosis]by doing a physical examination and if confirmed treatment will be oral [terbinafine-250mg]and [ciclopirox-8%]which will be applied to nail bed once a day.

Hope that helps
