Hi,

Itching in groin area may be most probably due to fungal infection... called tinea cruris, also called ringworm infection. It is cause by fungus. ...... .dermatophytes.

Precipitating factors like perspiration, wetness, overbathing, soap, obesity,DM, HIV or other immunocompromised condition..etc may be responsible.

You consult dermatologist and have firm diagnosis.

I would like to suggest following line of treatment....

- antihistaminic like levocetirizine to relive itching
- antifungal like ketoconazole or itraconazole
- application of antifungal cream
- cleansing the area with antiseptic like dettol
- have blood tests to rule out internal diseases
- avoid precipitating factors

You might improve in few weeks after proper treatment. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
