What Causes Itching In The Left Areola?

I have one areola area on left breast that itches every winter. this winter was the worst. not red, or oozing, had great mammogram but bra on too long really irritates it. its a tan skin color about the size of a fingernail. itches a lot only on left side. how can I treat it?

Your symptoms are suggestive of Fungal infection(Tinea (
Confirmation of diagnosis require microscopic examination of skin scraping.
Treatment is with topical antifungal agents. You can use over the counter anti fungal agents containing clotrimazole. Keep the area clean and dry. Do not use tight fitting undergarments. Use breathable cotton bra.
