Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Itching In The Neck, Chest And Underarms?
I have had a very itchy neck and chest and underarm area, been using over the counter anti itch products, still here. Also my head really itches and the front of my upper legs. Have used anti itch shampoo, no help. Been taking allergy pills for the antishistimine.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itching in the neck, chest and underarms which is very common due to blockage of sebaceous glands leading to folliculitis. It could be due to fact as dirt and moisture get trapped by your clothing.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep this area clean and dry and apply cold compresses with soaked towel. You should avoid touching or pricking rashes. If condition doesn't get better then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor will examine physically along with blood test and sample for lab test . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants , antibiotics like clindamycin , anti inflammatory or anti fungal.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
