I have had a weird itch in the back of my throat that comes on like around 3 times a day. It makes me feel like coughing but the cough does not affect it. it makes my eyes water and my noes run sometimes. If i stick my finger in my ear and itch it really deep it sometimes makes the itch go away. I am not sick. it has been about a year now that i have had these symptoms. I sometimes cannot talk when this happens. it is really embarrassing when i am at work and in a meeting and cannot participate. please help

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank You for the query at HCM

Your symptoms are suggestive of allergy.
Please try to identify any triggering factor for allergy like pets, dust, mold etc in your home/ working space and try avoiding the triggering factor.
The symptoms can be controlled by antihistamine like cetirizine 10mg once daily.

Hope this answered your question
