What Causes Itching In The Vagina After Sexual Intercourse?

I lost my virginity three days ago, two days after my period ended. We were safe about it, he wore a condom. The day after my boyfriend and I had sex, my vagina started to itch. I thought it would go away, but it still itches. It s not a constant itch, it comes and goes several times throughout the day. Earlier today, I felt wet in my pants, so I checked and I saw that my discharge was white in color. I don t know what this could be! Is itching normal after you lose your virginity? Could I have some sort of infection? Will the itching go away on its own? I would go to the doctor, but I don t want my parents knowing about my little adventure.

Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Itching in vagina after sex..followed by white discharge.. indicates Trichomoniasis ( fungal infection ) being contacted during sex (?)
Fungal infection is known to grow & difficult to be controlled.. unless treated specifically.
Treatment is given to both sex partners simultaneously. It is with fluconazole pills orally as well as for local ointment & vaginal pessaries. Sometimes repeated courses of medications are needed to cure it completely.. according to treating doctor's opinion.
Though it's not a good idea/ habit to hide somethings from parents.. please don't worry.. such infection can occur with lack of vaginal hygiene/ carelessness in daily & menstrual cleaning. Important thing at the moment is to start the treatment under expert care ( a gynecologist ).. specially at your age. This would avoid long running problem if taken care of in time.
