What Causes Itching In Vagina And Anus?

I just finished Augmentin and was also taking a probiotic as well. However, I am experiencing vaginal and anus itching along with redness and flakiness. Why dud this occur if I was taking a probiotic and can this be treated with an over the counter cream/ointment?

HI,
I understand your concern.
It's good that you have taken Probiotics along with Agumentin.
- Antibiotics usually disturb normal intestinal flora- thus making our body likely to get other infections/ infestations.Probiotics can avoid this.
They also cause our mucus membranes to be dried/ flaky/itchy.
- I feel you should try with mild soothing agent like Vaseline/moisturizer mixed with Multifungin oitment locally.to get rid of the problem.
- In case there is no relief, we will have to think of other causes like Fungal infection/ worm infestation.
After diagnosing the cause, specific treatment would help .
Thanks.
Thanks.
