What Causes Itching On Labia Minora After Unprotected Sex?

I just noticed an itch down there. Got a mirror and noticed tiny (size of pen dots) close together on the inner side of my labia minora. I do not have any discharge or smell and no pain when urinating. I did have unprotected sex just a day or two before. Im guessing my skin got irritated but the bumps have not gone away yet. What could this be?

Hi,

Bumps in labia and itching post unprotected sex could be due to bacterial or yeast infections or minor infectious conditions like sebaceous cyst or Fordyce spots, Bartholin's cyst, genital herpes etc.

I advise you to:
- Take antibiotics (flagyl) oral tablets for a week or candid V1 vaginal tablets for 6 days
- Daily Sitz bath
- Avoid using tampons (it may worsen symptoms)
- Have safe sex
- Wear cotton inner wear
- Maintain good hygiene

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
