What Causes Itching On Palms And Feet During Pregnancy?

Hi I am 32 weeks pregnant and have been itching like crazy. It is worse at night, the palmes of my hands and soles of my feet are the worse. There was one night it was soo bad i was in tears. I went and had blood work done and everything came back normal. I am still itching should i be retested or just trust everything is ok even though im still itching like crazy.

Hello,
If your liver function tests are normal and abdominal sonogram does not reveal any hepatomegaly, your symptom is more likely to be benign. There is a possibility that dryness of the palms and soles could be the cause of the itch. Also, during pregnancy, the peripheral nerves irritate often and this results in neuralgias, itching all over the body etc. Please use calamine lotion wherever you feel the itch. You may also use antihistamines to stop the itch after consulting your doctor. Hope this helps.
