What Causes Itching On The Arms And Legs While On Lamictal?

I take Lamictal Lamotrigine 300 mg a day and I believe it is causing itching on arms and legs, I also take synthroid .15 mg daily once. I have Cortisone .1% but I also have Triamcinolone Acetonide cream USP, 0.1% The hydrocortisone seems to help a little. Which is best.? Tom Siebert

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I think we need to stop the drug if it is causing itching. In fact skin, allergic reactions are common with this drug and maybe serious sometimes. If itching is there you should contact your doctor as we may need to change the drug to avoid possible serious skin reactions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
