My husband is a white male age 69 years. He recently under went surgery to remove his bladder due to cancer. He as been itching on his back since the surgery and it is getting increasingly worse. He had an ultrasound post op and then they found that the ureter may have blockage, scheduled a loopogram and with those results have scheduled a nuclear medicine test. Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Not necessary but any kind of surgery needs a lot of medicines and I hope this is not a reaction to any of the medicine which he is taking .
I would advise you ask your nephrologist that so that he can rule out which drug it could be and then change accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
