Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good day, a few days ago my bottom lip started itching, within a few hours a patch of my lip turned a tinge black. That was followed a day later, overnight, when i noticed there was now a black patch on my top lip - it itches as well. Not sure what it could be.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itching on the lip which seems to be due to hyper-pigmentation, allergic reaction, excessive lip chapping, dry weather, and deficiency of vitamin B6, B12.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply lip balm containing SPF 15 to prevent then from sun exposure and keep your self hydrated and drink plenty of water. Apply ice pack. Start vitamin supplement containing B6 and B12. If condition doesn't get better in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination and rule out condition like allergic reaction or infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics or antihistamine drug.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
