What Causes Itching On The Thighs?

Hi doctor i am 25 years old i am from india my problem is itching in my thighs its very irritaing in every night like 1 am i wake up automatically and scaratch my tighs and it will get very dark skin i am afftected from sine 2014 this problem i have consult many doctors they provide skin cream it will work my tighs will be very block color

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itching and dry dark skin on thighs which could be due to fungal infection of thighs mainly Tinea, as it localizes on body folds and thigh area. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take oral tablets of Terbinafine for 1 week. Take tablet of cetirizine 10 mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching. You should clean the skin with soap and cold water and apply petroleum jelly. Apply moderately potent topical steroid of triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream twice daily at affected sites.You should visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription.
