What Causes Itching On The Vagina Post Treating Yeast Infection?

hi. i am pretty sure my yeast infection has been treated. today is the fifth day, and all discharge has been gone for atleast two days, and there is no burning, or itch inside the vagina, all I have left is a slight itch on the OUTSIDE of the vagina. I was wondering if an itch on the outside means the infection is still there, but could it be just going away since I have no other symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The yeast infection and irritation may still be outside the vagina since the discharge was cleared. You may use anti-fungal lotions to wash it outside and also dry it well and wear loose and cotton underwear.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
