What Causes Itching/pain In Outer Ear With History Of Ear Infection?

My husband has itching and pain of his outer ear. He was treated for an inner ear infection last march. The itching started after he used antibiotic drops. They also treated him for a fungus in his canal. This has been going on for six months. Should he go to a dermatologist? Could it be a resistant yeast infection?

hello, thanks for your query, itching on external ear could be due to eczema, diabetes, seborrhea, allergy or pediculosis. kindly evaluate again. These conditions requires treatment for prolonged duration like antihistamines, steroid drops, antibiotics in infections. hope I have answeed your questions. all the best. take care.
