What Causes Itching Sensation All Over Head And Spine?

I am prescribed Morphine Sulfate ER 15 mg t.i.d. I began itching all over my head about 2 months into this treatment; a week later I was itching all throughout my spinal column. Now, 4 months into treatment, I have developed welts at the base of my spine from about T8 through S1. The very severe itching of my head and down my spine continues. I know the science behind the REASON I itch. I need to know if there is any medication that will effectively STOP the itch and diminish or completely clear up the welts. I have tried both Benadryl and Allegra without any relief. Tonight I tried Hydrocortisone 1% cream and the itching is slightly reduced. Again, is there a specific medication known to relieve this irritating side effect of morphine sulfate?
