What Causes Itching Sensation In Body While On Acitretin For Pemphigus?

Hello Dr Rynne, i been diagnosed with skin disorder by the name Hailey Hailey, i have been dealing with this skin disorder for several years, i been told by several Dermataologist that this disorder has not cure! i see a doctor that have prescribed me with Acitretin and it seems like this drug does the a good job for me the only side efect that i experineced is itching throught my entire body but at least it takes the the irritation of the ares affected by this disorder, i am wonderin that if is Ok for mr to keep using this drug or should i stop from using it completly? I had taken Cypro in the past but seems like this drug doesnt do much anymore!!Please adviseThank you,Miguel Perez

Hi , You should not be worrying too much about itching with acitretin because it is a very common minor side effect with the drug. There is no need to stop acitretin for itching alone. If you feel any change in your vision or any change in your moods with acitretin, those are warning signs to stop treatment with this drug.
