What Causes Itching Sensation In The Vaginal Area Post Intercourse?
Hello, I just had my first sexual encounter with another woman just a few days ago and I am concerned because I started having an intense itchy feeling in my vulva which has caused it to be red and irritated. I trust her but she has recently had sex with her ex who has cheated on her before. She has been experiencing the same symptoms as me for about a month. Should I be concerned? So far I am using Montistat.
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can. These symptoms and signs are suggestive of STD especially if there is associated pain, fever, urethral discharge and recent sexual intercourse. So this is the first thing to rule out by doing STD testing. Second, it may be sign of uroinfection or other genital infection but this is less common. In every case, antibiotic therapy may be required so test should be done as soon as possible. I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health. DR. Ivan Rommstein
