What Causes Itching Sensation Leading To Spots On Wrist,upper Arm And Shoulder?

I was on a bus last week and it was a 24hr trip so I went to sleep. WHen I woke up I felt a growing need to scratch my wrist. I saw some red spots and it kept itching and getting more and more inflamed looking and there were more red itching sopts on my shoulder, upper arm and then down to my feet. It has been over a week and the itching gets worse and more inflamed. what do I do and how long does it take to go away.

Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to contact dermatitis due to sleeping in the bus, or any fungal infection.

Application of ointment Lobate GM (pharmacologically Clobetasol + Miconazole + Neomycin) will reduce the symptoms.
1. Clobetasol being a steroid will reduce the inflammatory process
2. Miconazole being an anti-fungal agent will take care of any fungus causing the symptoms
3. Neomycin being an anti-bacterial agent will prevent secondary bacterial infections.

So, the ointment suggested by your Physician is correct. Kindly continue it as suggested.
You can also take antihistamine preparation like Cetrizine or Allegra for symptomatic relief.
In addition, keep the area dry & avoid too much exposure to water or sweat formation.
