What Causes Itching Sensation On Anus?

My husband has inflammation issues and we started him on Coconut oil and Turmeric & ginger. It's is helping but...within five days of starting this he has been experiencing itching around his anis. Not sure if this is related? Should we discontinue ?

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand the concern for your husband.
Itching sensation around the anus could be due to 'pin worm' infestation.
Kindly take the following medications to treat the same:
1. Tablet. Albendazole 400mg single dose at night. Repeat the dose within 2 weeks of intake of 1st dose.
2. Tablet. Levocetrizine 10mg once a day for 3 days.
You can apply coconut oil, if necessary. Avoid turmeric and ginger.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Itching around the anal region could be due to two reasons:
1. Pin worm infestation.
2. Anal fissures.
Kindly get his stool examination done.
For pin worm infestation, he can take Tablet.Albendazole 400mg 1 tablet after food. He needs repeat taking another dose within 2 weeks.
For anal fissures, he needs to be assessed by Surgeon regarding the status and then take a call as to its management by conservative means or by cryosurgery.
