What Causes Itching Sensation On Head And Hives On Elbow Joints?

Out of no where my son s (age 28) head started to itch then he went to the bathroom and saw that he had red raised welts on his elbow joints, under arms and arm pits, knee crease, hips and groin areas. He has no know allergies and just hit him out of the blue. the welts are itchy. He had been around the woods over the holidays and wore a hoodie that had been hanging in the closet for a long time. Also was around a lot of dogs, can you help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Based on the description , it does sound like an allergic reaction though it may be difficult to determine to which agent.

The use of an antihistamine should help but if the reaction is very severe he may need to see his doctor for steroid medication and any additional treatment.

He may need to consider allergy testing to pinpoint exactly what he is allergic to so that he can avoid it in the future.

I hope this helps
