What Causes Itching Sensation, Pain And Swelling In Little Toe?

Hi doctor , I m having problems with my toes, I have swollen, numb, tingly, painful and itchy toes especially my pinky toe. On the right side from the pinky toe going downwards I feel something hard building up. And on the left toe I feel that a red itchy pimple is growing. I have had this since 4 months and while walking the pain starts building up even more. I went to see my GP regarding this and was told to put my feet in salted water, however it is still the same. Could you please advise me on what I should do to make it better, could you please let me know asap Thank You

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have itching sensation, pain and swelling in little toe which could be due to viral infection, petechie, blockage of sebaceous glands as . It could be due to allergic reaction leading to dermatitis and hair follicle infection by bacteria. Need not to worry. You should rinse the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice a day. The symptoms can also occur in condition like diabetes or nerve dysfunction. Apply topical antibiotic cream such as neosporin 2% on it. You should take a course of antibiotic Tablet. Take a course of Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid twice a day for 5 days. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Apply ice pack to reduce itchiness and swelling .
