Hi. I have a large bruise on my thigh that I don t know how I got. It doesn t look like a normal bruise but instead is many tiny purple and red spots that form a bruise. I noticed it about a week and a half ago. Since then it has spread from the side and is on the front of my thigh as well and beginning to form on the other thigh. In addition to spreading it has developed knots under it that are extremely sensitive to touch and is itchy. Any idea of what it could be? Or if it will just go away on its own?
The possible diagnosis of the condition based on the description of the lesions is tinea cruris which is a fungal infection. You must avoid heat and humidity. Topical antifungal creams like clotrimazole can be used along with oral antifungals like fluconazole after consulting your dermatologist. Regards
