Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a spot on my leg. About a week ago, I was out in the woods fishing and got a scratch from the top of my boots. Over the last week it has grown to the size of a softball in area with no bump present. The inner part is white, with a deep red color surrounding it. It is a little sore, but has a tendency to itch. I know it is not a bruise from hitting something, and I also did not see any tick present last week.
As per your query you have symptoms of itchy and sore spot on leg which is due to allergic reaction, insect bite and could due to poor maintenance of hygiene. I would suggest you to: - Keep this area clean and dry and apply cream containing azelaic acid - Apply warm compresses with soaked towel and apply vitamin C serum at night - Avoid exposure to sunlight
If condition doesn't get better then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor will examine physically along with blood test and sample for lab test and may prescribe antibiotics like Clindamycin.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari, Dentist
