HELLO, FOR THE PAST WEEK OR SO i HAVE BEEN HAVING WHAT i THOUGHT WAS A YEAST INFECTION.i HAVE USING VAGISIL . cLEANING THERE 5X A DAY. vERY ITCHY AND SWOLLEN ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED BY FAMILY AND MYSELF i AM SCARED i WILL RUB MYSELF RAW IN MY SLEEP WHEN i CAN SLEEP THANK YOU, JENNIFER

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
The problem you could be facing might not only be yeast infection, but a mixed infection of yeast and bacterial one.
Hence, take a course of Tablet. Metranidazole for antibacterial effect. Continue to keep the area under good hygiene and wear loose undergarments till the symptoms subside completely.
To reduce itching and inflammation, you can take Tablet.Levocetrizine once a day orally and apply locally Hydrocortizone cream.
Gradually, your symptoms should subside.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The itching associated with a vaginal infection can be severe in some cases.

You can consider using another topical agent if the vagistat is not working for you eg miconazole (monistat) or clotrimazole (gyno lotrimin).
An oral anti fungal such as fluconazole may also be needed if the infection is severe.

Applying a mild topical steroid cream to the area for 1 to 2 days may help to reduce the itching and swelling eg hydrocortisone
